According to a major new IBM survey of more than 1,500 chief executive officers from 60 countries and 33 industries worldwide, chief executives believe that–more than rigor, management discipline, integrity, or even vision–successfully navigating an increasing complex world will require creativity.
"CEOs identify creativity as the number one leadership competency of the successful enterprise of the future." The solution, according to the report, is "instilling creativity throughout an organization."
Wow, as the emergence of new technologies and new business models increases, the next generation of business leaders need to be able understand the mega trends of their time and have the creative insights to capitalize on opportunity. Companies that do not hire tech savvy leaders will see them selves left behind. This is no longer a reality just for IT companies. Traditional brick and mortar companies also need to think about their digital presence and how they intend to embrace new emerging business models.
